Phase 4: After the final revision of your Master's thesis
  • Important: Discuss with your supervisor in advance whether your thesis should be published in the university repository or not. It is recommended to arrange this via e-mail. If you want to request a block ("Sperrwunsch") fill out this form and send it to the SSC.
  • There are two seperate submissions: One to the SSC and one to your supervisor. Each of them requires the submission of different documents.
    • Submission to the SSC:
      • Please check the current submission modalities and the forms and documents required by the SSC at your own responsibility. The necessary information can be found on the homepage of the SSC
    • Submission to your supervisor (NOT to the SSC!):
      • One printed and bound copy of your Master's thesis.
      • USB-Stick, CD-ROM, DVD, or ZIP file in an easily accessible cloud containing:
        • PDF file as well as the source file (e.g. Word document or LaText file) of the final thesis.
        • For empirical work: the collected data and analyses as well as the scanned test subject protocols.
        • If a computer program was created as part of the Master's thesis: the source code and the instructions for installing, using and compiling the program.
        • When Unipark was used: Complete backup with data and codebook (project archive, raw data, survey and codebook as pdf., codebook as excel, images/videos from media library). Instructions on how to archive the questionnaire data correctly can be found here. Please create a backup copy of your questionnaire and questionnaire data immediately after completing your survey and before writing your master's thesis!
        • When Qualtrics or other packages were used: Download the survey as PDF, export the project as one file, and save all media files in a folder.
        • Submission of all study-related documents (Informed Consent forms, protocols, questionnaires etc.)
        • Word or PDF document with your name and current e-mail address (not the Unet address)
        • Response letter and Word or PDF document with marked changes. Describe shortly how you addressed the feedback in the revision of the master thesis.
        • A Word/PDF file with consent for data storage for potential alumni meetings, including both approval and rejection options
        • Statement on the use of articial intelligence
  • In order to register for the Master's exam, you must have submitted the record of examination ("Prüfungspass") to the SSC and received a positive evaluation of your Master's thesis from your supervisor.
  • You may receive requests from publishers to publish your Master's thesis. We strongly advise you not to do so. Please, discuss possible publication strategies with your supervisor.
