I am interested in how social environments and personality factors affect the attention, information processing, and self-regulation of individuals. It is an important concern for me to illustrate the practical implications of my research. Recent research topics in the area of consumer behavior include research on selective attention, self-regulation, the influence of country stereotypes on choice, and social influence. Moreover, I have studied self-regulation in a great variety of other contexts such as the self-regulation of older drivers, and self-regulation in intercultural settings. Finally, I have examined the changes resulting from intercultural contact (acculturation).
